Dear Friends and Followers,

Have you ever wondered how “green” is your lifestyle? (the impact it has on the environment?) I certainly did! It actually is on my mind quite often, especially in the context of changing cities, jobs, countries.

How and where can I recycle? how expensive are the organic products and where can I find better deals? how about the farms and farmer’s markets? this and lots of other questions have been on my mind many, many times.

What I have learned so far is that if you do get to move around (travel, live in different places), you are more bound to that place and its regulations than you realize! the food you consume, the clothes you wear, the origins of the produce in the supermarkets, the water that you drink, etc. is already chosen for you in more ways than you realize! especially in the Western World.

Do not despair however! With a little bit of work and research, you can take better eco-friendly decisions (like choosing to go eat at a locally owned restaurant instead of a fast-food chain; giving second-hand shops a try (Goodwill, Salvation Army, second-hand shops anyone?), looking for the farmer’s market, buying less but better quality products and produce, etc).

Therefore, here are some great articles on how to have a better and greener lifestyle ๐Ÿ™‚

But before that, try the footprint calculator from National Geographic. Just so you know where you stand and what needs to be addressed! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Stay green!

Celebrate this day by being thoughtful and loving towards our mother Earth, in every way you can and see fit! ๐Ÿ™‚

Earth Day is here and letโ€™s all think about being kinder to Mother Earth! I know, we all say we are trying but we need to try harder! Itโ€™s about being aware every single day to recycyle, reuse, donโ€™t pollute, pickย  up litter, stop the use of pesticides and the list goes on and on and on! It scares me to think of what will be left for future generations. I know Iโ€™m not the only one who feels this way. Earth Day is quite popular and celebrated every year. It really isย about all of us inspiring awareness and appreciation for the enviroment for ourselves and passing it on to others! I want to share with you some quotes I found for this special day. Iโ€™m quite sure this will be an important topic today and many others will be writing a post about Earth Day. So, I feel itโ€ฆ

Now, when playing and working with the kiddies, I knew that toilet paper rolls could come in handy and were used quite often, usually to give life to paper characters.

But after reading THIS article, I realized that I have yet to learn about being truly creative in reusing the toilet paper rolls to their utmost capacity! (did you see the kid’s wig????… now I know what I”ll be next Halloween! ๐Ÿ˜€ )
